As you may have already discovered reading my blog, I am all about a bargain yet I simultaneously  understand and appreciate the beauty in high end fashion.  So it’s often quite the challenge to achieve both beauty and low cost without sacrificing something (usually quality).  For this reason I often find myself reverting to vintage finds, because they provide both the quality I look for, and often contain elements of trends that are very current.  Take the varsity jacket or bomber look that is very NOW.  Guess what? it’s very 30 years ago too.  The 70’s and 80’s saw a lot of this Letterman look and we are no stranger to it in the vintage shopping world.  So  I decided to first look around for a cool contemporary version of this bomber I was craving, but when I realized I would have to dish out at least $150 for something decent, I decided to give the vintage variety a go.  After a couple of weeks of searching I finally came across an excellent oxblood mint condition bomber in my size.  Price tag? $30.  I’d call that a score.
See how I paired my bomber in the next few shots.

Outfit Details: Vintage bomber (Vice Versa); Helmut Lang Tee (came as gift with $200 purchase at sample sale); Zara pants (A sale score for $30); Sigerson Morrison pumps (gifted); Vintage Jewelry and Handbag (from the amazing vintage shop Omnia Vintage).

Glad you found your bomber at last. I find that eventually, you do end up unearthing stuff you really want in thrift shops. Love the bling and the pants too. :)
