Loving the rawness and simplicity of this beach bag, and let's not forget that it's less that $20. (find it here.)
Smitted with the idea of lace at the beach, it's easy, breezy and of course so pretty. (find it here.)
A sucker for tropical prints I am. and bold colors, so here is an adorable one piece suit (find it here.)
Must keep the pretty faces shielded from those rays! (find this cute hat here.)

The ultimate spring must have: The Whimsical Handbag

In the past I've amused you with various selections of vintage handpicked items.  This post is no different, with the exception that I've taken the quirky to a whole new level.. cause I can.
Spring is all about color, texture and adventure, so with that said, here is a bunch of amazing, affordable and possibly adventurous pieces for you to incorporate into your wardrobe.

This cute lil baby is a gorgeous canary yellow and has some awesome textures going on. I'm so down. You may scoop this up here.
Colorful beads strategically placed in squared off raffia boxes? priceless.  Find this cool mama here.

Roosters in mid kiss action? Come on! that is hardcore whimsical.  Find this beautiful vintage Enid Collins bag from the 60's here.
As my burning passion for the color orange continues, so does its popularity, so why not celebrate it with this awesome raffia vintage handbag.  Find her here.

Lastly i'd like to share with you, my personal favorite and what will soon be my springtime whimsical handbag.

Voila! an intense dosage of awesomeness..

Happy Memorial Weekend folks.

Smitten with Stripes: My Vintage Picks.

While perusing the interwebs for items I can't afford (often Net-A-Porter) I came across this babe. Mixing stripe colors and direction is for the wild at heart (which I clearly am).

If you can afford to dish out $270 on a striped cotton dress, more power to you, and you can find this Markus Lupfer beauty on Net -A -Porter.
But for the mere mortals, who need to pay rent at the end of the month, and don't have sugar daddies..that may be quite the splurge, so I dug into the world of Etsy and other affordable sites for some more reasonable options to feed our stripe loving souls.

I am enjoying the structure and the pockets on this dress. You may purchase here.
Perfection in a short, Defined by high waist, stripes, rips.....find here.

Truly special, we have here a striped AND dotted vintage bathingsuit, in great blue and white color scheme, for you beach frolicking days, find right over here.
Adorable! all I gotta say about this one.. find here.
I had to include this dress (that I am actually wearing in my previous post) because it's Uniqlo, awesome and really affordable.  Find it at the Uniqlo Website for $20.  Major score.
And cause stripes shouldn't be limited to your apparel, here's a really cool necklace by Juliet & Company you can pick up at Shopbop.
Happy Tuesday!

A tourist in my own town.

This weekend was all about exploring my lovely city.  I found myself at various tourist attractions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  I went specifically for the Prada and Schiaparelli Exhibit, (which is amazing) but found myself wandering other areas as well.  Looking around, I noticed that I could have been easily mistaken for a tourist, and exploited that observation by posing just like one.  Here are a few good shots.

Here you find me in a typical "I'm gonna do what the statue is doing!" pose.
I am wearing: Uniqlo striped dress, H&M trench vest, Zara boots, vintage Trifary necklace, and thrifted nameplate necklace.
Also wearing, vintage thrifted satchel (salvation army), paper fedora, Movado gifted watch.

Did I capture the spirit of a tourist in these shots? you can be the judge of that.

It's a Paisley party!

Today I am wearing a lovely dress I found at Buffalo Exchange a few weeks ago.  It's from Tibi, the contemporary, feminine label with an edge.  I am always drawn to their prints and silhouettes for they really capture what a modern girl wants.

One of my favorite aspects of the dress is the lovely paisley panel going across the chest.. as seen above.
I'm super picky about my prints, since I design prints myself.. But recently we have been showered with silk scarf prints all over, which I am a huge fan of...so I figured I would share with the world some of my great vintage paisley finds.

Great shift dress in a lovely summery color palette, and of course PAISLEY! You may purchase this here.
For all you jet setters this awesome vintage suitcase.  Purchase here.
Just like mine, this pretty dress has a large scale paisley panel.. and red.. is just awesome.  Find it here.
This piece just has so much personality, and the details really rock.. Find her here.

Have a great weekend!

Summer Sandal Guide: The block heel.

As my search continues for the perfect summer sandal, I have found myself drawn to certain trends more than others.  The espadrille and wedge look are classics, and your average lady is so glad she can bring them out to play. But it's been made quite clear that I am not your average person, especially when it comes to fashion, so here is whats been tickling my fancy.

The block heel. Perfectly paired with textured elements (straw) and summery color palettes (orange and yellow) This gorgeous pair is by Elizabeth and James and can be found by clicking here.
Unfortunately, this beauty is a whopping $300.  So after a little bit of digging and searching I've found some similar options at a more friendly price point.

At a third of the cost, you can get something quite similar, by the master copycats Zara, right here.
Also for about $100 you can score these cuties, which have the texture and the heel and the color blocking.. Yay for Asos, find them here.
TopShop also makes a cute pair, and mixes the block heel and color trend with a little Cinderella slipper vibe. Find these here.
Happy Shopping!

Noah's Ark, on your arm.

I recently started wearing a ring I've had since childhood.  Obviously it was too big on my fingers at the time, so I often wore it as a necklace pendant.  She is a pretty and delicate dolphin ring, and she makes me very happy.

Seeing Stars ring, Forever 21.  Double diamond ring, vintage Avon via the Brooklyn Flea. On my nails (OPI no room for the blues)
This ring has gotten a lot of attention recently, and it propelled me to do a little Etsy search for similar or even kitchier items, animal themed of course.  Here are my top picks:

This awesome necklace is from this Etsy store.

How badass is this Zebra bracelet? Seriously man... you can buy this Here

And honestly, how cute is this little snake staring deep into your eyes? Find her right this way...
Taking a cue from Noah's Ark never looked so good.

If I was going to the Met Gala (I would wear)

This:

Why this particular Louis Vuitton ensemble you may be wondering?
Well, she comes equipped with a parasol, we have an ombre effect created by seafoam green feathers, incredible textures, an elegant and vintage feeling silhouette that leaves a bit to the imagination.
She is feminine and dreamy but also manages to have edge and some quirk.
Ok we get it, I'm in love.
Now let's see what everyone else will be wearing.

An accidental homage to Whitney Houston.

I went to the Botanical Garden for the Cherry Blossom festival last weekend, and for the occasion (many people get dressed up in full Geisha costumes and look beautiful) I wore all white, thinking it may look really pretty set against all the greenery.  Little did I know, one of the snaps would end up resembling the Whitney Houston album cover. That's just how I roll.

Wearing:  Thrifted Free People Blouse, Vintage cuffs, Thrifted Necklaces, and Flea market vintage earrings.
Here are a few other shots from the day:

One of the amazing polaroids taken that day by Adrienne Darnell

This was another lovely Polaroid taken by Adrienne Darnell (find more of her beautiful photography by clicking on her name)

Also wearing:  H&M concious collection white maxi skirt. And I promise I am not in an enchanted forest, its Brooklyn folks.
