I’ve found myself quite puzzled by the lack of weather consistency, mostly when I’m trying to get dressed in the morning.
Will it be 7 or 12 layers of clothes today? Agh!
Being a New Yorker, faced with this issue so often, I’ve mastered a layering technique that allows me to quickly shed or apply as needed.
Perfect example is my outfit today: which consists of a total of 4 layers.

I started out with a t-shirt (thrifted Zara) but then……

I threw on a boucle jacket (thrifted in San Francisco)
and since I’m not ready to let go of the contrasting sleeve look.. I just HAD to add this trench vest (H&M). (equipped with my awesome mushroom brooch)
And finally for that late night windiness… my trusty army jacket (also H&M).
And let’s not forget the neck baubles…

and my crazed sleepy face look.. cuuuuuuuuuute!

Hi! I’m so glad to find another fellow New Yorker doing fashion blogging (: I really love your layered look! I can’t wait to see you do some posts on thrifting. Do you mind me asking which thrift store you love the most here in NYC? I’d love to check it out. I live in Queens and I’m only familiar with a couple (I obviously need to venture out to other boroughs lol)

Hey Christal! so glad to hear you are digging the look :) I also live in Queens… and find that the salvation army on Steinway is a pretty good place to check out, since it’s not overly picked through.. I would also check out the goodwill a few blocks away (these are between 34th and 35th avenue) and if those are on your list already. I would go to Vice Versa Vintage in Williamsburg… but stay tuned and I will be sure to include some more thrifted finds :)
